In September 2007, MetroFi co-sponsored Concord Free Wi-Fi Week, with the City of Concord and the Todos Santos Business Association. This first-of-its-kind campaign was designed to raise awareness and utilization of MetroFi’s municipal Wi-Fi network in Concord, and included a mayoral proclamation, Wireless Internet Lounge, wire-cutting ceremony, network demonstrations at local businesses and more. Hundreds of people turned out for the week’s events, including several Bay Area media outlets.
